01 Feb Michael Gray Joins Micro Craft as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
Micro Craft, Inc., located in Tullahoma, Tennessee, is pleased to announce the employment of Mr. Michael Gray as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). “In 2020, we initiated the restructuring of our organization to complement our ongoing improvements to both our capabilities and capacity,” stated Dr. Kenneth W. Sullivan, Micro Craft, Inc. President/CEO. He added, “We recognized a few years ago that we would need someone of Mr. Gray’s expertise to continue on the trajectory of growth set forth by both Micro Craft Senior Management and the Board of Directors.”
The Micro Craft Board of Directors voted last fall to create the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. According to Dr. Sullivan, “The addition of this position is vital to our succession planning and permits Micro Craft to expand our business development efforts to new venues including direct government contracts. Mr. Gray is a legacy hire. He worked in the Micro Craft Finance Department in the mid-1990’s and has served as an Advisor to the Board of Directors since 2017. We are very fortunate to have someone of Mike’s caliber and experience to join our senior management team.”
According to Mr. Gray, “I am excited to return to Micro Craft at this juncture in their growth cycle. I have been fortunate in my career to have opportunities to lead a variety of government and commercial entities. I am confident that my experience will be invaluable as I assist the Leadership Team at Micro Craft to take the Company to the next level. Micro Craft has made significant improvements in its manufacturing capability, including facility and equipment upgrades. Micro Craft has also upgraded its business systems. We have revamped our accounting, manufacturing, and program management systems to permit us to manage larger programs, (both commercial and governmental) in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. It is an exciting time to be at Micro Craft and I am delighted to be a part of the growth and success.”
Prior to joining Micro Craft, Mr. Gray served as the Executive Business Advisor for the Commander, Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and its subordinate commanders. He advised the AETC Commander regarding organizational change and technological innovation to enhance professional military education, training, and force development. Mr. Gray is an accomplished global leader with a 30+ year track record in maximizing operational efficiencies and bottom-line growth across Fortune 500 companies. He is a recognized turnaround agent with success in leading service delivery for both government and commercial projects and is known for his ability to mentor and develop high performing organizations and next generational leaders. Mr. Gray is the former Senior Vice President, Operations Finance with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
